Further reading perhaps, for everyone who plays this game?

I'm no expert but as I understand it, there were hardly any humans on this planet until recently,...and suddenly... there are six billion of us. Soon to be nine billion.
Too many?

According to John Smart of the Acceleration Studies Foundation, the world population has passed peak growth. We will probably level off and start declining when world population hits 8-10 billion. Much of the shifting trend is attributable to girls going to school, having babies later, and earning more to be better providers. The environmental movement needs to worry less about population growth and worry more about consumption growth. The world cannot currently support another 1 billion American lifestyles. Besides, focusing on population growth seems like a thin disguise for shifting the burden of change to the poorest nations.
